3D Core 100% Recycled PET GR 100 Foam Core
Description
3D Core PET GR is a closed-cell, 100% recycled recyclable high-performance rigid foam with excellent technical properties. Made from post-consumer plastics, it is a conformable core material made from a pattern of interconnected PET foam hexagons and is particularly suitable for the construction of high-strength, lightweight components with high permanent loads.
3D Core has a honeycomb structure with the gaps between the hexagon cells acting as air and resin flow channels. This makes 3D Core suitable as an internal flow medium for vacuum resin infusion or resin transfer moulding laminates. It is compatible with all common resin systems including epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester, polyurethane and phenolic resins.
The integrated honeycomb structure of 3D Core creates more flexibility and simplifies handling in production. 3D Core can be draped into curved moulds, so it can be used on more compound shaped parts where a conventional foam core would be difficult or impossible to use.
3D Core is one of the highest performing foam core materials in terms of compressive and shear strength against weight/density. Typical applications include boat building, automotive and motorsports, architecture and construction, and sporting goods.
