We carefully and generously apply two coats of premium Fiddes wax to our rustic weathered and modern planed timbers in our workshop, enhancing all the natural features and wood grain of both timber types.

Wax not only makes the timber look great but it is also very durable. Getting the correct colour for your furniture is one of the most important parts of ordering and we want to make sure you have the opportunity to get the right colour to suit your home.

Rustic Weathered

Rustic Weathered Wood Samples

All of our rustic weathered shelves are made from kiln-dried Scandinavian redwood pine.
We purposefully leave small cracks and imperfections in the timber as we feel it adds our style and character to the product.
The timber is air dried in our warm workshop for a minimum of 2 years prior to being used. This ensures the timber is perfect for furniture and moisture free.
The premium Fiddes wax finish has a two tone effect on rustic weathered timber as the wax attracts to the courser grain.

Modern Planed

Modern Planed Wood Samples

All of our modern planed shelves are milled from kiln-dried Scandinavian redwood pine.
The finish is fine and even and straight grained and has none of the imperfections feathered in our rustic weathered finish.
We choose Scandinavian pined as the trees grow more slowly in the cold northern region than in warmer areas. This strengthens the wood.
The premium Fiddes wax finish is much smoother and consistent on modern planed timber than on rustic weathered.
