Nomex Aerospace Grade Honeycomb Core 3.2mm Hexagonal Cell (29kg/m³)
Description
Nomex commercial grade honeycomb is a lightweight, high strength, honeycomb core material manufactured from aramid paper with a 3.2mm hexangular cell shape. Once the honeycomb is formed it is coated with a heat resistant phenolic resin to increase its strength and thermal properties. Nomex honeycomb offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, exceptional stiffness, and is very bondable.
Nomex is known for its excellent mechanical properties and sets the standard in none-metallic, lightweight core materials for sandwich composites. The low density 0.029g/cm³ aerospace grade Nomex is used as a core material in ultra-light sandwich panels for weight-critical applications. It is used extensively in radio controlled aero modelling, UAVs, ultra-light aircraft, boat hulls, high-performance motorsports and military shelters.
