Pultruded Carbon Fibre Microtube
Description
This precision made, micro scale pultruded carbon fibre tube is manufactured to tight tolerances using high strength carbon fibre and an epoxy resin matrix. Pultrusion is a method of manufacturing continuous lengths of fibre reinforced section by pulling continuous strands of carbon fibre through resin and a former before curing the resin all in one process. Pultruded tubes have 100% longitudinal fibre orientation which gives them excellent strength along their length but makes them vulnerable to crushing forces.
These microtubes include the smallest diameter commercially pultruded tube available anywhere in the world. Representing the pinnacle in protrusion technology, they are ideal for ultra-lightweight applications such as nanorobotics, electronics and precision engineering.
