Wood Plastic Composite 30% PP Natural Rod
Description
Wood Plastic Composites (WPC) are composites of standard polymers and wood fibres, in this case 70% wood fibres and 30% polypropylene (PP). The PP acts as a bonding agent between the wood fibres, giving the material a pleasant feel while providing hardness and toughness at the same time. WPCs have a high tensile strength, are weather-resistant and can optionally be given anti-bacterial, fungicidal and UV-resistant properties.
WPC is used wherever there is a need for a material similar to wood, but where wood is unsuitable due to its susceptibility to the weather. Typical applications include decking profiles, bench and screen moulds (eg park benches), playground equipment and rope ladder rungs. If you have a requirement for machined or finished WPC components please ask the Plastock team for more information.
